Dangers on fishing
What danger can a harmless lodging for the night in a tent, dugout or near a fire mean?
It would seem, what danger can conceal in itself a harmless overnight stay in a tent?
Just spend the night overnight. But it happens that such a night becomes the last for some unfortunate anglers. This happened in the winter season before last on the Volga, when they found dead fishermen in a burnt tent, who at first apparently were poisoned with carbon monoxide, and then burned in a tent that broke out from a gas stove, which probably fell with a fallen man.
Even in a single-wall summer tent, it is necessary to open the window when the house is heated by a gas stove or tea or food is prepared on it. Modern materials from which tents are made are quite dense. Therefore, carbon monoxide accumulates even in such seemingly blown shelters, especially if the tent is additionally covered with a polyethylene cover, and on the sides it is covered with snow for better heat retention.
It is better to buy a tile with a ceramic hob that warms the tent, boils tea and soup without open fire. At the same time, the heat from such a burner is no less than from a regular burner with an open fire.
During the night in the dugout
In the dugout, which is usually heated by the simplest stove-stove, it is necessary to ensure that the stove is not heated before the appearance of a blush on the tin sides. At least, where there is no protection in the form of a metal or asbestos shield between the log wall of the dugout and the stove. If housing is done wisely, then such a shield should be laid between the stove and the wall. Often the red-hot side of the stove causes the wall to smolder first, from which the housing begins to fill with smoke. And then the dugout flashes like a matchbox. This is what happens when fishermen, having taken a fishing out after fishing, sleep soundly and do not feel smoke.
Some fishermen who do not respect themselves, surrounding people and housing, where they spend the night, often throw bull-calves right under the bunk, where there may be cooked and drying wood for the stove, and sometimes there is old dry fern or spruce fragrant, removed from the bunks during the replacement of the litter with new and fresh. This is also often the cause of the fire.
Sparks from the fire
During the night at the campfire in the forest, the main danger is the spark from the fire. Despite the seeming harmlessness of small sparks, they often cause the angler to catch fire. Although in our century of padding polyester and holofiber, wadded clothing becomes a rarity, but many fishermen still wear wadded pea jackets and the same trousers. And such a small spark soon becomes a scarlet blossoming bud on a wadded suit, and then the trousers or jacket begin to glow. And quite often it does not help vtaptyvanie clothes in the snow, and even pouring water. Soon the decay of wool begins again. This can continue until the morning, when huge holes are formed on the quilted jackets. This is at best. When the angler sleeps drunk, such an overnight stay can end badly, especially if he spends the night alone at the fire or his comrades in the same condition.
In the yard – the end of February. And already begin to appear scour. First of all, holes in ice with black water running through them are formed on small rivers with a fast and uneven flow. Especially if there is a snag under the water or a tree that has fallen into the water. In addition, gullies are formed in the shallows, where streams of currents meet. And although falling into a ravine, you can stand on the bottom, and the water in such a place is up to the waist, but fishing, you can say, is finished and you still have to get in damp clothes to the dwelling, and the air temperature may turn out to be low in winter. Therefore, during this period, it is necessary to closely monitor the ice situation.

Volga reservoir can also present an unpleasant surprise.
Scour gills are most often formed on grassy shallows, in gnarly places, where hemp remains from the flooded forests remain at the bottom. There are also a lot of scour between islands, where there are shallow “pyataks” under water, and also in channels, where in some places the water circles in the opposite direction. Often scour glands are formed in completely unexpected places, where seemingly ice conditions are quite reliable. And the reason for the formation of scour in these places are the keys beating on the bottom. These places just need to know.
